Overview：DropCare^® EDDS is a novel, phosphorus-free, and environmentally friendly chelating agent. Composed of ethylenediamine and succinic acid, its molecule contains multiple donor atoms, enabling it to form highly stable complexes with metal ions.

Compared to traditional chelating agents (such as EDTA), EDDS holds significant advantages in environmental friendliness, selectivity, and application flexibility. Firstly, EDDS exhibits high selectivity for transition metal ions like copper and iron. Even in hard water environments, it preferentially chelates these metals while having a minimal impact on calcium and magnesium ions, thereby reducing the risk of corrosion to equipment and cleaned surfaces. Secondly, EDDS possesses excellent biodegradability, allowing it to be rapidly broken down by microorganisms in the natural environment. This avoids the long-term residual pollution of soil and water bodies caused by traditional chelating agents, aligning with green and low-carbon development needs.

Additionally, its resistance to high temperatures and strong alkalis makes it suitable for a wide range of pH environments (e.g., industrial cleaning, soil remediation).
